Production Reflection 4
Summarise the duties you performed this week within your
role
This week I had to colour coordinate the
final script to make sure we knew what camera we was operating on, that didn't
take long then we had to publish the final script onto a blog post. Also this
week I offered to help set up the studio we had to make sure everything was
where the set designer wanted it to be. Then on Thursday which was the live day
we had to start by doing the first run through of the show and it went
throughout the whole day. Then at the end of the day we all gathered round to
take a look at what we had produced.
What has been successful this week?
The things I thought went well was that we
all knew what we had to do and also the fact that we all helped each other out
for example me and Leo, Aisha and Chloe offered to help out Monique set up the
part of the studio after Wednesday's lesson was over. Another thing that went
well was the fact that after a longs day of hard work our final attempt of
doing the live was a complete success and I was really happy for everyone and
myself with the work that we had created.
What could you have changed or developed
and why?
The thing that I could of developed would
have to be when I was operating the camera I think I could of listened to Chloe
a bit more as she was the director because I panicked on the first go and then
on the second take it was a repeat of the same thing. Eventually I got it on
the third go however if I'd hadn't of made that mistake the first time round I
would of got a distinction. I think that's what pulled my grade down a little
by getting the same thing instructed to me more than once. A part from that
everything ran smoothly.
How did you work with your team this week?
Was your work effective?
I would say the way I work effectively
with my team would have to be me helping Monique mainly set up the background
with musical pictures. Also helping Aisha a little where if she was meant to
say something to the presenters from time to time I would help her out a
little.
How would you judge your performance on
the live day? Explain your answer with examples your day?
I would personally say that my performance
was up to standards from time to time I messed up a little but I took the
advice that was given to me and that's a reason among other things why the
final attempt was successful. For example the part where the lip syncing was
supposed to happen I was meant to tilt up and zoom in onto Conner the first and
second attempts was slacking and I was given the advice, I took it and the
third time round I did the correct thing so in a nutshell I think I did well.

Production Meeting Refelection 3
Summarise the duties you performed this week within your role?
This week I had to finishing filling in a table that I had been given. In that table I had to talk about the 9 camera shots that I took from last week I had to explain the shot number, the equipment needed, location in studio, movement range and what it can be used for. This week we also did the camera master script and it went well we got a lot done in the lesson. So now we are prepared for the the live day which is next week.
What has been successful this week?
The things successful this week was the fact that we handed the work in on time and published. Since we had finished our work we decided to contribute help out with in our group we help Yanick with the script.
What do you need to change or develop and why?
There was nothing that I could have develop within this week because we handed the work in on time therefore. I had nothing to change or any to develop because I handed my work and it was up to standard that was expected.
What do you intend to do next week?
Next week I intend to finish the camera master script with the other two camera operators on Monday by the end of lesson we should have finished. On Wednesday we will start decorating the room for live day. Then on Thursday it's the live day hopefully everything goes according to plan.
How did you work with your team this week? Was it effective?
This week was successful it had it's ups and downs but we got there in the end. This week was effective because we got the work in on time and since we had done that we decided to help others within our group for example one of the presenters.

Production Meeting Reflection 2
This week me, Leo and Darren as camera operators we had to do a risk assessment and list all the hazards and whether it was a low, medium or high risk then we had to figure out we was going to control these hazards. We also had a meeting and discussed what we did this week. We also had to make notes on the what the presenters and director said to give us a more solid idea of how the live day is going to be so up.
The group didn't respond to my idea however Mrs Lowndes did explain my hazard in a bit more detail on what I said.
The things that was successful this week was the fact that we knew all know what our job roles were and got the hazards done for the risk assessment on time. We also had to have a meeting the was successful because everyone was able to speak on what they had accomplished this week with that being said we are all on the same page so now we know what we're going to do in the next following week when we come back after the half term.
For me there was nothing to improve I don't think I think I presented my work as well as everyone else.
When we come back from our half term break we will started making the script for our tv show.
I worked with the two other camera operators which were Leo and Darren and us working as a three helped us work out all the risks about being a Camera Operator and how to control them. I also had to work with the Director which was Chloe, the two Presenters which were Yanick and Connor mainly to work out where the dance competition was going to be and who was going to be involved in it.

Production Meeting Reflection 1
We had a meeting
to discuss our TV show ideas and the meeting was set up like an official
conference room. We all went around and presented our idea and while that
person was talking about their idea everyone else had to
write down the things in the notes on show ideas table. This helped us as a
class to come a decision on who’s idea to choose.
The group didn’t
have any suggestions to make about my pitch however Mrs Lowndes did suggest that I could maybe explain the completions in a
more detailed manner and she also asked me to elaborate on the pre- recorded
bit in my running order but aside from
that there was no other things that I could improve on.
The person I
voted for was Aisha because I like her ideas on how she was going to keep
the audience entertained throughout the tv show. Such as the competitions one
of them was the whisper challenge. Another thing I like about Aisha’s idea was the Snapchat idea I also
like the idea of asking questions about the show on Twitter. Lastly I like the
idea of how she wanted her studio design to look.
Aisha stuck to
the brief by saying it was going to be relating to 14-20. Another thing Aisha stuck to was the interviews and competitions.
For Aisha I don't think she could have improved on anything because I think she presented the work nicely she knew what she was talking about so I have nothing to say on things that Aisha could add.
Other Ideas that
I would like to incorporate in the final idea would be Connor’s idea about the live audience, I like Jack’s call ins idea,
I like Kesean’s face time and the Skype calls, I liked Kori's ideas of being more active and doing stuff to keep it lively, I like the fact that Leo came up with the graffiti, I like Yanick's dance competition idea and I like the fact that Chloe came up with her missing lyric game.

Treatment for Multi Cammera TV Programme
Programme Format
The genre is magazine music tv show. A Magazine Music show is a show that is around music and only music. This show will be on E4. The programme title is called 'S.L.U.M' which is an acronym for Studio Live Urban Music. The programme will last half an hour 15 minutes of live and 15 minutes of prerecorded live it will include the three videos, interviews with music artists, competitions.
Title of show
The title that I've chosen is called S.L.U.M which is an acronym for Studio Live Urban Music. The reason why I've chosen this title for the TV show is because teenagers and young adults these days listen to a lot of urban music such as Hip-Hop, RnB, Pop, Indie etc... so the title would fit with the audience because this is the type of music teenagers and young adults listen to.
Content Ideas
In my music magazine TV show I'm going to have and interview with the guest music artists which will be Jerome and Michel. This will appeal to the audience because the audience will be able to see another side of the artist. I will have competitions for example singing/rapping competitions to win prizes to concerts and festivals and keep the audience entertained through out the show. It will also keep the audience coming back for more to watch the next episode. It will include music videos, shout outs and quick fire rounds as well for the same reason. The show will also talk about the latest topics to keep the viewer up to date with what's happening.
Running Order
What's going to happen in the TV show
Studio Design
In my studio I would include colorful lights because they are vibrant and eye catching to make the studio look lively because it's also another way to catch the audiences attention. In addition to this it depends on the colors you use because if you use bright colors like red, green, blue etc... it looks colorful then it adds another effect of looking nice.
This is what my floor plan is for my music show. The reason why I've chosen this layout is because I think it looks very organised and realistic.
Sketch of background
Visual Style
The visual styles for my Multi Camera TV programme are going to have are fast paced cuts to keep the viewer entertained and excited. This is because I don't want the audience to lose interest of the viewer throughout the programme I will use variety of shot types and transitions between the shots graphics.
Presentation Style
How many presenters I want and what I want my presenters to look like I would like to have two presenters in my tv show they'll be wearing urban clothes to show that the tv show is urban, I would make sure that they are two different skin colors to show that the show is multi ethnic, the presenters are aged 14-20 to relate to the TV Show. I would also want to have to guys to show that the show is aimed at both genders. The two people I think that would fit the role as my two presenters would be because of his humor and enthusiasm and Connor was chosen because he dresses quite urban and he speaks confidently. Also the fact that they are both to different skin colors shows that it's aimed more than one skin color.
I want Yanick to dress like this to show that the tv show is diverse and not just aimed at a certain crowd that dress a certain way. So this would show that this tv show isn't just aimed at on type of crowd by the way he is dressed.

I want Connor do dress like this because it will show that the tv show is aimed at people who dress in a modern type of urban way.

Multi Camera Format
LIVE SPORTS - Aresnal Vs Reading
Practical
Multi Camara are used in live sports for coverage of action. They use multi camera because they need to cover everything that is happening on the pitch and in the stadium. At 2:59 the multi camera is managing to still get the goal keepers reaction even though there's lots of things going on. Multi Camera is also used in live sports for Multi Camera simultaneous recording coverage of action. They use multi camera because it can spot something that is unexpected for example. At 2:23 multi camera has got a shot of the football player scoring an own goal and instantly it switches to the manager of reading to get his reaction.
Aesthetic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNRy5IR3CJU
Multi Cameras are used in live sports for Communicating meaning to the viewer to get the audiences reaction to something because as the viewer watching the TV the viewer can see that the audience is excited or happy. This is an demonstation of communicating meaning to the viewer. At 5:16 multi camera used to capture two fans leaving the match this shows that the fans of Arsenal are disappointed by the way that the camera has been set on them.
Multi Cameras are used in live sports for Maintaining the viewer interest keep the viewer interested this is because if there was one shot type throughout the whole match people would lose interest. So to keep the viewer interest multi camera use diverse shot types to make it look fast and exciting. At 4:12 multi camera is used to capture the facial expression of Stephen Hunt scoring a goal and as you can see he looks happy with himself. Then it changes to another camera where you see manager of Arsenal then it plays the re play and then the match continues. This would keep the viewer interested because of the quick diverse range of shots although with a single camera you would be able to do that. This could have a impact on the viewer by
CONCERTS - Madonna performs 'Living For Love' At BRIT Awards 2015
Practical
Multi Camera is used in Concerts for coverage of action. They need to use multi camera so they can capture everything that's happening on the stage and in the audience needs to see everything and all at the same time especially in a concert because it's so fast pace. At 1:07 multi cameras are covering all the action by getting a glimpse of her fall then it switches to her getting up then it switches to a aerial shot to get back her confidence.
Multi Camera is used in Multi- Camera simultaneous recording coverage of action. This is because multi camera can catch everything even spontaneous things that might not be expected. At 03:39 multi camera has got a shot of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian and multi camera has made this unexpected. As you wouldn't think that they were there unless they had multi cameras but again if it was a single camera being used then they wouldn't be able to capture that scene.
Aesthetic
Multi Camera is used in Concerts for Maintaining viewer interest. Multi Camera use this because they can switch to a variety of shots quickly and by this being done it keeps that audience engaged with whats happening throughout the concert. An example of this is at 1:14 after she's just got up and then it switches to the it switches to the whole view of the audience.
PUBLIC EVENTS- Barack Obama Inauguration
Practical
Reasons why single cameras can not be used in public events is because of the contraints of location. In the clip 0:27 - 1:18 we see Obama then there's a camera focused on to the white house then there's another camera focused on the massive crowd. Then there's also an aerial camera that covers almost the whole event. A single camera would've been only focused on Obama.
Aesthetic
Multi Camera are used in public events because you can communicate meaning to the viewer for example at 02:26 Obama says "we continue a never ending journey to bridge the meaning of those words with the reality of our time". Then it goes to another camera that's going into a close up on one individual and she looks quite proud that Obama has said that. Multi camera is able to do this because there more than one camera so it can change to different cameras.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zncqb-n3zMo
GAME SHOWS - Makoto Nagano @ Sasuke 18 (Ninja Warrior)- Full Run
CHAT SHOWS - Stanley Tucci in TEARS on The Graham Norton Show
Aesthetic
The reason why Multi cameras are used in chat shows for communicating meaning to the viewer is because multi cameras are able to capture that scene then switch to different people and catch people's facial expressions. At 1:34 the camera is focused on Stanley Tucci and you can see the emotion on his face because of multi cameras. A single camera wouldn't catch his face expression because the camera would've been focused somewhere else.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbKsR-Nq8KU
MAGAZINE SHOWS - 106 & Park Presents: Zendaya - 106 & BET Interview
Practical
The reason why Multi cameras are used for Coverage of action is used in Magazine shows is because multi cameras are able to get a lot of scenes in one clip. For example at 0:18 it shows Bow Wow and Keshia Chante. Then there a camera focused on Zendaya as she approaches the couch. This could not be done with a single camera because you might miss something as it would only be focused on Bow Wow and Keshia Chante.
Aesthetic
The reason why Multi Cameras are used for maintaining the viewer interest in Magazine shows is because with multi camera switch to all sorts of different shots. If it was the same shot throughout the whole TV programme then the viewer would lose interest. For example at 4:02 multi cameras are focused on the crowd and this is very appealing for the viewer to watch because you can see that the audience is cheering it's also very appealing form the way it's been set. I say this because the way it's been set it's not just one person cheering it's a group of people cheering so it makes it look more enjoyable to watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvR45BDAowU
TALENT SHOWS - The Voice 2014 Finale - Jessie J and Chris Jamison "Masterpiece"
Practical
The reason why multi camera is used for coverage of action is because multi cameras all in different places of the same location so that's why there able to get diverse types of shots. For example at 0:26 multi cameras have got a shot of the artist from long shot but then it switches to another camera but from a different angle. Single camera can't
do this because it can only be placed in one spot so it can only get the scene from one angle.

The reason why multi camera is used for maintaining the viewer interest because the camera has an affect on the audience it uses various techniques such as tracks backwards whilst craning up , this keeps the viewer interested because it takes them back to the artists performance. For example 1:19 multi cameras are on a crane and it always goes back to Jessie J and Chris Jamison so it keeps the viewer interested because of the fast editing and because it's fast it keeps the audience interested because if it didn't have fast editing it would look boring to the viewer.

GAME SHOWS - Makoto Nagano @ Sasuke 18 (Ninja Warrior)- Full Run
Practical
The reason why multi camera has to be used coverage of action is because you can get all the action. At 1:23 you see Makoto Nagano climb up part of the obstacale course and using a multi camera your able to see it. Then it cuts to another shot and it's able to switch because it's multi camera. However with a single camera you would miss parts of it because from a different angle you wouldn't be able to see it.
Aesthetic
The reason why multi camera has to be used for maintaining viewer interest is because multi camera can switch to a range of different shots because it's used with multi camera they can take advantage. At 3:08 you see Makoto Nagano's facial expression and you can see he's focused and with a single camera you couldn't see that because then it cuts to a camera where you can see the whole course form a side view. Then it keeps cutting to various views so it keeps a fast vibe throughout the tv show so it keeps the viewer interested because they switch from scene to scene quite quick because if it's going from scene to scene slowly it will be boring.

MAGAZINE SHOWS - 106 & Park Presents: Zendaya - 106 & BET Interview

For example at 0:26 multi cameras have got a shot of the artist from long shot but then it switches to another camera but from a different angle. Single camera can't
do this because it can only be placed in one spot so it can only get the scene from one angle.
